Our first school to sign up is Princes Hill Primary School in Melbourne, Victoria.
I had a meeting with the school sustainability committee and they are keen to participate. The teachers had great ideas about getting the kids to be involved and generate the ideas for an action and have asked me to talk to the children’s representative body, the Junior School Council.
It was suggested that we plan and action for Friday 23rd October, which is a school day – much easier than dragging people into school from their Saturday morning routines!
The project fits really well with the involvement of the school in the Carbon Sink Project and a Student Conference planned in 4th term.
There is a lot of enthusiasm from parents at other schools, we’re really hoping to see a whole lot of schools registering in the next couple of weeks.
