How to talk to the school

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

We have had a few phone calls about how to talk to schools and concern from parents that schools will not want to be involved in a global action.

With sustainability as a  focus in a lot of schools and children aware and asked to bring rubbish free lunches, save water and think about their natural world-  being part of a global action is a natural extension of what is already happening.

There are lots of great opportunities as we develop this website to have an interaction between schools about their ideas. So don’t worry and make an approach.  Schools are way ahead in bringing climate change awareness and engendering responsibility for the enviroment to the next generation.

Lisa has developed some dot points in a one pager to help you talk about the issue. Check it out under the Pages section.

It is fantastic making connections with different groups interstate. Rozelle Public School Sydney are planning to do a 350 action. They have had experience in the past getting a group together and the photo below is a good example of how easy it can be. Just a group of people from the school community and a sign with a big visible 350, a photo and upload to the website and you are done – action completed.

Actions

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

There has been a lot of great responses to the idea of involving schools and keen parents who are willing to approach their local school.

Schools provide a great venue and a ready made community great for this type of action. Below are some visual examples from the 350 website to get you enthused. Remember it does not have to be big just a gathering a photo with a big 350 sign in it that’s enough.
